Miss Galaxy 2023: We’re in this together

"I work a lot in the slums of Calamba, Laguna and the life there is hard and it's very depressing, but I've learned to always find the beauty in it, to see the beauty in the children's faces, and to be grateful. And I will bring this aspect as a Miss Galaxy, to see situations with a silver lining. And to determine where I could give something; where I could act as a spokesperson. And if I can teach people to be grateful, we can have an amazing world where negativity cannot grow and prosper, and children will have smiles on their faces."

What a heartfelt and beautiful answer, right?, Becoming Miss Galaxy is not just about beauty, it's also about being compassionate, intelligent and an exceptionally good human being too, and this reflected in Miss Philippines' winning answer. Winning the pageant has helped her pursue the advocacy for children. With the help of The Teddy Bear Organization, she is able to help the children in various ways.

A thousand toys for a thousand smiles

As a children advocate, Bianka Eñola’s goal is to see the smiles on the children’s faces. After having her concert, the profits were used to buy toys to make them happy and the profits from the toys are also for the future of the kids. The toys bought from the Teddy Bear Project are not only for fun, but also educational. They are mostly toys that can be good mental exercises for the young children. Eñola and the organization not only hope for the happiness of the children, but also to harness their potential and gain knowledge.

Raise your flag, Raise funds, Raise the healthcare of children

Bianka Eñola is putting her influence to good use once again as she helps jumpstart a campaign to provide aid for children with serious medical conditions. Her birthday wish was to raise funds for children with critical illnesses. “Hey! Last year for my birthday you helped me fundraise [P388,000 (over $8,000)] for SmileTrain Philippines (smiletrain.org) which went towards giving life changing surgeries to children with cleft. This year, for the whole month of January, I’m partnering up with Teddy Bear Health Organization as their first ambassador for 2021,” she said. The beauty queen said she was so inspired to celebrate her birthday this month in a “very meaningful way.”

Ambassador for Knowledge: Cultivating Potential through Education

Miss Galaxy 2023 Bianka Eñola’s advocacy in education has earned her a new title. She is now the “Ambassador for Knowledge” for Teddy Bear Knowledge Foundation Inc. (TBKF). Since 2016, the beauty queen has been volunteering as a teacher assistant to the students of nonprofit organization Teddy Bear Organization, which supports the holistic development of underprivileged children in Calamba, Laguna through education. Her role as “Ambassador for Knowledge” will increase public understanding of the global learning crisis affecting middle- and low-income countries, particularly the Philippines, and will encourage regional and international cooperation between the public sector, private sector, and citizenry by encouraging them to become stewards and co-creators of transformative learning.
